Bible Intake I

by on January 16, 2011

Here are some resources that are applicable to today’s lesson. We talked about many applications for us in each of the “intake” areas, so I thought I’d compile some links for you here:

Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. -1 Timothy 4:13

  1. FBC audio
  2. Other Audio Sermons: T4G, The Gospel Coalition, Desiring God, 9Marks, Ligonier, etc.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. -2 Timothy 3:16-17

  1. Set a time!
  2. Bible Reading Plans: pick one
  3. Meditate, picking out a verse or phrase to carry with you and think on throughout the day.

Oh how I love your law!
It is my meditation all the day. -Psalm 119:97

  1. Journaling: Get a Moleskine or some kind of notebook to keep with your Bible.
  2. Cross-references: look them up and allow “Scripture to interpret Scripture”
  3. Concordance: A great tool for word studies: Crossway Comprehensive Concordance
