Paul’s Letter to the Church at Ephesus

by on August 22, 2011

As you may or may not know, Matthew is preparing an upcoming series on Ephesians. He’s going to be preaching in the lectio continua style, which is also called expository preaching. This is where we will, by Matthew’s lead as he has been led to prepare by the Holy Spirit, study verse by verse through the book of Ephesians.

I would encourage you to go ahead and read through the book of Ephesians this week in preparation. Get familiar with it, so that when we begin to study it in detail, it will be easier to connect the pieces because you already have an idea of the structure of the book. Be in prayer too for this series. I am excited to dig in with you to look at God’s word. The word that He spoke to the Ephesians through the slave of Christ, Paul.

My prayer is that you will know “the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!” (Rom. 11:33) as it is displayed in Ephesians. That you will know this book better than any other book in Bible at this point in your life, and that it will fuel your passion and desire for the Word of God. That you will want to know it better, more deeply.
